TV Coaching

I offer coaching services for TV writers, including in-person and virtual sessions, comprehensive written feedback and career advice. I collaborate with writers to empower them to think more holistically about the stories they want to tell and the characters they want to develop – and create a space where we can think creatively to create radically different results.

As an experienced TV writer, I know how to create, tell and nurture stories that resonant with studios and audiences. I was a writer for the series Speechless (ABC Television) and writers’ assistant for The Carrie Diaries (The CW). I developed the original pilot Hacked for Bluegrass FanFare at ABC Studios, and worked as a development associate for Silver and Gold Productions. When I first started writing TV, I worked with story/script consultant Jen Grisanti, from whom I draw much of my coaching inspiration. I’m a faculty member at Gotham Writers Workshop.

“Miriam is the BEST at helping you get your specific vision and unique voice on the page in the best way possible. Her highly-structured writing sessions will leave you with detailed, tangible, actionable notes, and make you feel 1000% ready for your rewrite. She took my pilots from vague ideas to full-length scripts. It’s very clear from working with her that she genuinely cares about every person she coaches and every script she helps with. I will continue to hire her for every script I work on!

“Miriam has the incredible skill of giving you the tools and questions that lead you to solve your writing ‘problems’ without being prescriptive. Her ideas and directions for my scripts are always spot on and she has taught me to ask the right questions to get my writing on track when I’m wandering aimlessly. Miriam is a master with structure and an artist with words.  She is the type of coach that shows you how to strongly stand on your own two feet and become the best writer you can be.”
